Kim Dong-yeon "Operation of 1st Phase New Town TF... Promotion of Comprehensive Redevelopment Planning Service"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, expressed his intention to actively address the redevelopment and reorganization issues of the first-generation new towns within the province, including Ilsan, Bundang, Jungdong, Pyeongchon, and Sanbon.

On the 23rd, through a post titled "The First-Generation New Town Issues, the Governor Cannot Just Stand By" on Facebook, he emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province will actively strive to ensure that a proper redevelopment direction is included in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's master plan by operating a task force (TF) that includes the heads of the five new town municipalities, city council members, provincial council members, as well as experts and citizens, and conducting a 'comprehensive redevelopment planning service'."

He also promised, "We will not neglect proposing essential contents that must be included in the special law for the first-generation new towns, working closely with the local National Assembly members of the relevant districts and members of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee."

Governor Kim added, "Although delayed, it is fortunate and welcome that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has announced it will proceed with the follow-up measures for 'first-generation new town redevelopment' as quickly as possible, considering the residents of the first-generation new towns who opposed the previous 'August 16 Real Estate Measures.'"
