[Seoul District News] Gwangjin-gu Holds 'Dong Civil Complaint Meeting' to Hear Vivid Opinions from Residents and Field in Line with the Launch of Gwangjin-gu's 8th Elected Term... Online Survey for Major Projects and Urban Brand (BI) Selection of Gwangjin-gu's 8th Elected Term
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is holding a ‘Neighborhood Civil Complaint Report Meeting’ to listen to vivid opinions from residents and the field in celebration of the launch of the 8th local government administration.
The meetings will be held in all neighborhoods of Gwangjin-gu, starting with Junggok 1-dong on the 23rd and concluding in Gunja-dong on September 19. Moving away from the traditional formal business report format, the district mayor will directly visit neighborhood community centers and key local livelihood sites to communicate with various residents.
At the Junggok 1-dong Civil Complaint Report Meeting held at the Junggok 1-dong Community Center on the 23rd, about 50 people including city and district council members, heads of professional organizations, and resident autonomy committee members participated.
The meeting proceeded in the order of ▲report on neighborhood status and major civil complaints ▲listening to and responding to on-site opinions through dialogue with residents ▲delivery of an opinion board containing residents’ opinions on Post-it notes.
On that day, residents raised various field opinions such as securing parking lots, a long-standing wish of Junggok 1-dong, questions about the safety of the 4th vaccine, expansion of the Mulnori water playground in Jungnangcheon, solving traffic congestion through the expansion of Myeonmok-ro road, and strengthening support for Saemaul leaders’ quarantine projects.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, promised to “make efforts to secure parking spaces through sufficient resident opinion gathering and close consultation with Seoul City regarding the Gyeongdong parking lot, which is being promoted as a Seoul City private investment project,” to solve the parking problem in Junggok 1-dong.
He also said, “Junggok-dong, which has sufficient conditions for development, has been slow in progress and change,” adding, “I will place Junggok-dong at the center of Gwangjin-gu’s development and do my best so that the residents of Junggok-dong can take pride in their neighborhood.”
After the civil complaint report meeting, Mayor Kim visited the Junggok 1-dong senior citizens’ center to share residents’ lives more closely. He performed health exercises beneficial for joints and blood circulation by tapping arms and legs with the elderly, helped with puzzle games good for dementia prevention and cognitive ability improvement, and discussed inconveniences or points for improvement.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “We will actively strive to reflect the various residents’ suggestions heard today in the district administration,” and added, “Since signing the establishment of the Communication Committee as the first approval matter after taking office, I will continue to communicate openly with residents and focus the district administration’s capabilities for the development of Gwangjin-gu.”
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is conducting an online survey until the 31st regarding the ‘Preference for Major Projects of the 8th Local Government Administration’ and the ‘Selection of Urban Brand (BI).’
In celebration of the 8th local government administration, the district has promoted communication with residents through various methods such as operating ‘Residents Meeting Days’ and forming the ‘Gwangjin Development Communication Committee.’ This time, an online survey is being conducted to reflect residents’ opinions and preferences on core projects and priority tasks of the 8th administration, as well as the selection of the urban brand (BI).
First, the ‘Preference for Major Projects of the 8th Local Government Administration’ survey asks about the most anticipated detailed projects among six major areas: ▲Balanced Development ▲Mutual Welfare ▲Economic Vitality ▲Culture & Education ▲Safety & Environment ▲Open Communication.
Also, the survey related to the ‘Selection of Urban Brand (BI)’ asks residents’ opinions on five urban brand (BI) design drafts that visually express the 8th administration’s vision of ‘Happy Gwangjin Developing through Communication,’ selecting the draft that best represents the vision.
Anyone who is a resident of Gwangjin-gu can participate in the survey on the district office website under ‘Participation & Communication → Residents’ Opinions/Participation → Survey.’ Among participants in each survey, 100 people will be selected by lottery to receive a mobile cultural gift certificate worth about 10,000 KRW.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “To achieve Happy Gwangjin Developing through Communication, we are conducting a survey on the major projects of the 8th local government administration and the selection of the urban brand (BI),” and added, “We ask for many thoughtful suggestions as we actively reflect residents’ opinions.”
