[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Chang-seon) will hold the '2nd Practical Training for ESG Management Introduction' on the 23rd from 2 PM at the 7th-floor conference room of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This '2nd Practical Training for ESG Management Introduction' was promoted as part of the 'Corporate ESG Management Activation Support Project' being implemented together with Gwangju Metropolitan City.

It was prepared to acquire comprehensive knowledge of ESG management and to support raising ESG awareness in the region and activating ESG management of local companies through education on ESG management introduction cases of domestic and international companies.

Manager Jo Ui-jin, who is in charge of ESG evaluation at NICE Credit Information Co., Ltd.'s Corporate Evaluation Office, is scheduled to conduct education focused on cases that local companies can refer to.

The training content consists of ▲Overview and development background of ESG ▲Relationship between ESG performance and corporate credit rating ▲Domestic and international ESG interest and investment status ▲ESG regulations and major issues (Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, Carbon Border Tax) ▲ESG response measures and management cases for small and medium-sized enterprises.

A representative of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "ESG management, which was previously required for large corporations and public institutions, is now being demanded of local small and medium-sized enterprises," adding, "We expect that the training, where the ESG evaluation officer directly explains ESG response measures and introduction cases, will provide practical help to local companies wishing to introduce ESG management."

For detailed information and application for the training, please refer to the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry website.

Meanwhile, last month, the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the 1st ESG Management Support Council to monitor the ESG response status in the region, and recently has been leading the spread and introduction of ESG management in the region by conducting ESG corporate diagnosis for local companies' ESG management introduction.
