Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Job Fair Held Both Offline and Online... Overcoming Employment Market Slump, Resolving Corporate Labor Shortage

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The integrated job fair for the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, which is revitalizing the stagnant job market, will be held both offline and online.

Busan City will hold the "2022 Bu-Ul-Gyeong Job Fair" from the 22nd until September 2nd to resolve manpower shortages in the key industries of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam areas.

This fair is organized to provide employment opportunities in specialized occupations unique to each metropolitan local government and to strengthen the cooperation between central and local job-related agencies. It is co-hosted by Busan City, Ulsan City, Gyeongsangnam-do, Busan Employment and Labor Office, Bu-Ul-Gyeong Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, and BNK Busan Bank.

The fair was first held online in November last year and is now in its second year. It is planned to be held in Ulsan next year and in Gyeongnam in 2024.

This year, a total of 290 companies are participating, including 150 from Busan City, 60 from Ulsan City, and 80 from Gyeongsangnam-do, planning to hire around 2,400 people.

Due to COVID-19, last year's fair was held entirely online, but this year it will be held both offline and online.

The online fair will be conducted from the 22nd on the official website, featuring major events such as ▲Company Recruitment Booths ▲Employment Special Lectures ▲Recruitment Briefings ▲Regional Excellent Company Presentations.

Job seekers can apply for jobs online and participate in video interviews based on the recruitment information posted on the website, and they can also receive video employment counseling.

On the 30th, starting at 10 a.m., an offline fair will be held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, 3B Hall in Busan. Job seekers and company recruiters can meet in person for interviews, and key recruitment information can be checked through special and general exhibition halls.

Additionally, at the event hall, various side events such as career counseling using tarot cards, one-on-one personal color diagnosis, and image consulting will be held.

Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, said, "At a time when the wave of digital transformation is sweeping strongly, we will focus all our capabilities on nurturing talent in new industries and attracting companies to create new jobs," adding, "In line with the new government's policy that regional development is national competitiveness, we will promote genuine region-led job projects."
