Special Exhibition '2022 Chuseok Maeum Hansang' Until Next Month 6
Food Allocation Increased by 30%, Livestock Products Volume Expanded by 40% to Meet Holiday Meat and Convenience Food Demand
Up to 1.1 Million Won Reward Points Event Prepared
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 22nd that it will hold a special exhibition called "Chuseok Heart Table," focusing on popular holiday products ranging from local specialties and premium foods to health supplements for gifts, until the 6th of next month.
Anticipating a polarization between demand for "premium" gifts reflecting the face-to-face holiday atmosphere and "cost-effective" demand due to high prices, Lotte Homeshopping said it secured a large quantity of high-end gift items such as Korean beef and overseas brands, as well as reasonably priced popular holiday products. The food broadcast schedule has been increased by about 30% compared to last year's holiday special, and representative programs such as "Choi Yura Show" and "Kim Naun's Cooking" have been expanded by 20%. Reflecting the recent preference for meat on holiday tables, the supply of livestock products such as Korean beef and ribs has also been increased by about 40%.
Using media walls and augmented reality (AR) technology, the TV home shopping broadcasts will add a festive atmosphere, and a special program called "Daedong Matjido" will introduce popular foods nationwide through live local broadcasts and drone filming. During the event period, customers purchasing food and kitchen products will receive up to 1.1 million KRW in reward points based on purchase frequency and amount, with additional channel-specific reward benefits also provided.
On TV home shopping, customized products will be offered by analyzing product demand according to the holiday preparation period. During the first week of the event from August 25 to 28, various products for preparing holiday tables such as local specialties and convenient meat dishes will be sold mainly through themed programs. On the 25th at 5:40 PM, "Kim Naun's Cooking" will feature "Kim Naun LA Galbi," and at 8:40 PM, the "Choi Yura Show" will hold a Chuseok special exhibition. Premium international and domestic specialty products such as the Spanish premium cooking oil "Venta del Baron Olive Oil" and "Gijang Seaweed" will be introduced. Additionally, domestic ingredients such as "Juwangsan Red Pepper Powder," made from fresh peppers from the Cheongsong region, will also be showcased.
During the second week of the event from August 29 to September 4, when an increase in customers preparing holiday gifts is expected, premium products such as high-end seafood, fruits, and Korean beef will be intensively presented. On the 1st of next month at 1:40 PM, Lotte Homeshopping's own brand "Haru Ilgwa" will offer holiday fruit gift sets, and at 8:40 PM, popular holiday products such as the "Hoengseong Livestock Cooperative Korean Beef Meat Set" and "Bulrocho Jeju Tangerines" will be featured. High-end seafood such as lobster and Jeju Okdom fish will also be sold. In addition, health supplements popular as gifts for parents, such as "Jung Kwan Jang Red Ginseng," and kitchenware like "Fissler Frying Pans" will be exclusively offered.
The T-commerce channel "Lotte One TV" will offer convenient meals at reasonable prices reflecting high inflation and provide up to 20% additional reward points. It will introduce meat products including "Seasoned Beef Rib Meat" from the famous Busan restaurant "Haeundae Amso Galbijip," as well as popular holiday cuts such as "LA Galbi" and "Flank Steak."
Kim Jaegyeom, head of Lotte Homeshopping's TV Business Division, said, "This Chuseok, the first holiday after the lifting of social distancing, is expected to show a clear polarization in shopping trends, so we have prepared a rich special event ranging from premium to cost-effective products. We expanded the quantity and programming of popular holiday products and prepared various benefits, so we hope it will provide customers preparing for Chuseok with a reasonable holiday shopping opportunity."
