[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] "The United States and Taiwan independence forces are changing the current state of the Taiwan Strait and shaking the 'One China' principle, seriously damaging the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait."
According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 21st, Wang Yi, China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister, made this claim during a phone call with Emmanuel Bonne, France's National Security Advisor, on the 19th, blaming the United States and Taiwan for escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait.
He added, "No country can make concessions on issues of national sovereignty and territorial integrity," and argued, "It is only natural for China to protect its legitimate rights through actions and to prevent a greater crisis."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China reported that Advisor Bonne stated that France's position remains unchanged in upholding the One China policy and respecting China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and hopes to maintain stability in the Taiwan Strait through dialogue and negotiation.
Earlier, China conducted military blockade exercises around Taiwan in response to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, and even after the exercises ended, it has normalized military demonstrations by sending military aircraft to the Taiwan Strait daily.
