CEO Sangmin Lee. "Leading Metaverse Popularization with Initial 100,000 Mever Devices"
Mever, a metaverse platform developer, will unveil its dedicated metaverse device for the first time in the world at BEXCO in Busan.
At the K-Metaverse Expo held from August 18 (Thursday) to 20 (Saturday) at BEXCO in Busan, Mever announced that it will showcase its metaverse-dedicated device.
Mever is the only company in the industry pursuing a global patent for a real-economy metaverse module and is making a remarkable achievement by launching a dedicated device.
The metaverse device market is expected to exceed a scale of 1,000 trillion won within the next few years and is a field where major big tech companies are fiercely competing.
While most big tech companies are releasing wearable devices utilizing AR, VR, XR, and MR technologies, Mever announced that it will launch a completely different device?a non-wearable device.
In other words, the biggest difference between Mever’s device and those of big tech companies is that Mever’s device is a screen-type device that is already popularized and does not need to be worn on the body.
Without investing in numerous researchers and astronomical funds, Mever developed core software with a small team and installed it on all screen-type devices for release.
According to Mever’s lead developer, “Instead of focusing on wearable devices that big tech companies have invested in for years but have not yet popularized, we concentrated on devices that are already popularized.” He added, “By installing Mever software on various screen-type devices such as tablets, POS systems, kiosks, and TVs, we enabled business operators and celebrities who create content to quickly generate revenue.” He also said, “Consumers can easily access these contents via mobile to experience, trade, and use diverse content from business operators and celebrities.”
Furthermore, he stated, “With just one Mever device, users can utilize Mever’s unique technologies including motion tracking that synchronizes movements in the metaverse without wearing wearable devices, broadcasting technology within the metaverse, technology to record, edit, and stream metaverse content, and web integration technology.”
Meanwhile, Mever devices can be owned with a popular subscription fee of 200,000 to 300,000 KRW per month, allowing users to generate revenue. They also provide 3D business space, web sales rights, server fees, and various real-economy tax and legal support.
When the consumer mobile version officially launches in the second half of this year, business operators and celebrities owning Mever devices will be able to meet unlimited consumers and generate revenue. Especially, since the device was developed and launched in collaboration with top domestic and international production and payment companies such as Hanasis Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Jeong-yong), the industry is closely watching its progress.
It will be interesting to see how much impact Mever, a David (startup), will have in the metaverse device market crowded with Goliaths (big tech companies).
Lee Sang-min, CEO of Mever, said, “The only way to surpass the trillion-won Goliaths is the speed of David shaking the market in a completely different way.” He added, “Starting with the launch of 1,000 units at BEXCO, we plan to launch 100,000 units domestically this year and 1 million units globally by country next year.” He also said, “Ultimately, the metaverse is Mever. We plan to quickly lock in customers by staying just half a step ahead and secure market leadership.”
Finally, he expressed his ambitious vision, saying, “To achieve this, rather than simple competition, we will collaborate with excellent domestic and international companies to expand the market and lead the global metaverse market.”
