Jindo-gun's 5-Day Market 'Delivery Helper' Receives Positive Reviews

[Jindo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, has received positive evaluations from residents for the delivery assistant service started at Jindo-eup 5-day Jogum Market to revitalize traditional markets struggling due to the economic downturn.

Three delivery assistants carry purchased goods free of charge to nearby parking lots or bus stops for elderly visitors and market users with mobility difficulties at Jogum Market in Jindo-eup.

The delivery assistant service, which began last August, operates on the 2nd and 7th of every month when the market is open, with service hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Users can access the service through the delivery assistant waiting area inside the market building of the 5-day market and the contact information posted around the market.

Additionally, the delivery assistants help elderly and transportation-vulnerable customers shop and return home safely, prevent safety accidents, and promote and guide visitors about the traditional market, which is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

Kim Hee-su, Jindo County Governor, stated, “The delivery assistants provide convenience to customers using the traditional market and are expected to bring vitality. Besides the delivery assistant project, we will continue to expand convenience services and strive to revitalize the local economy.”
