[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Jang Ye-chan, chairman of the Youth Foundation and former head of the Youth Headquarters in Yoon Seok-yeol's campaign, targeted former leader Lee Jun-seok on the 18th, urging him to "put the country before personal gain."

At a press conference held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Jang stated, "I hope former leader Lee does not engage in double standards in front of the noble phrase 'putting the country before personal gain'."

He directly criticized, "Former leader Lee Jun-seok and people like me, who have received media attention, only had the opportunity to prove ourselves through the presidential election, and we do not have the right to arrogantly claim to put the country before personal gain in front of other young people who have devoted themselves without even making their names known."

He added, "All members of our party must make painstaking efforts to uphold the will of the people who chose the Yoon Seok-yeol government in the presidential election, but the method should not be one that deals a fatal blow to the government and the party," and emphasized, "It is even more unacceptable to wish for the failure of the Yoon Seok-yeol government."

He continued, "Former leader Lee's handling before and after the Ethics Committee's disciplinary action and his unilateral criticism of the party and government became a major cause of the loss of national governance momentum," and pointed out, "The important position of ruling party leader is not for someone's personal politics."

After Chairman Jang's press conference, former leader Lee sent a text message to a media outlet, saying, "I don't have the leisure to worry about party democracy, but it is a matter of looking at the ratio of young voters who chose Yoon Seok-yeol and whether they voted for Lee Jun-seok or Jang Ye-chan," and sharply remarked, "If you have accepted the position of chairman of a public interest foundation, it is better not to interfere in politics."

Former Supreme Council member Kim Yong-tae of the People Power Party also wrote on Facebook that day, "I once gave up the position of head of the Youth Headquarters to Chairman Jang Ye-chan during the presidential election," and warned, "Please remember that my choice at that time did not mean that I would bow down to power while clearly seeing injustice in front of me without saying anything."

Former Supreme Council member Kim stated, "What was Chairman Jang doing when those called 'Yoon core supporters' were blinded by power and damaged the party's democracy without procedural legitimacy?" and expressed regret, "It is truly unfortunate that he dismisses the actions of many young party members within the party simply as being for the party leader, reflecting such a petty and shabby perspective."
