Busan Office of Education, 2023 College Scholastic Ability Test Application Submission

Busan Office of Education, 2023 College Scholastic Ability Test Application Submission Busan Metropolitan Office of Education.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will accept applications for the 2023 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) from high schools and five education support offices within the jurisdiction from the 18th until September 2nd.

Application hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and applications will not be accepted on Saturdays and public holidays.

Examinees must submit their applications within the application period; after the deadline, submission of applications and changes to test areas and subjects will not be allowed.

It is a principle that examinees submit their applications in person. However, exceptions allowing proxy submission are made for persons with disabilities, inmates, military personnel, hospitalized patients, overseas residents excluding those traveling abroad on the application date, and those quarantined due to COVID-19, provided they submit the relevant supporting documents.

High school seniors and graduates in the Busan area can submit their applications at their current or alma mater high schools.

Graduates of high schools from other cities or provinces residing in Busan, those who have passed the high school equivalency exam, and other recognized academic qualifications can apply at the education support office that has jurisdiction over their place of residence.

Long-term hospitalized patients, military personnel, and inmates may choose to submit their applications at their alma mater high school or the education support office that has jurisdiction over their registered address or actual residence.

Applicants eligible for test accommodations due to severe visual impairment, mild visual impairment, brain lesions or motor disabilities, severe hearing impairment, or mild hearing impairment should submit their applications through their current or alma mater high schools to the Busan Nambu Education Support Office.

Those eligible for test accommodations can receive conveniences such as adjusted test times depending on the type and degree of disability.

All examinees must prepare two passport-sized photos taken within the last six months, the application fee, and an ID card showing their photo and 13-digit resident registration number when submitting their applications.

Additionally, those eligible for test accommodations, high school equivalency exam passers, and other recognized academic qualification holders must submit the relevant supporting documents together.

For detailed information, inquiries can be made to the current or alma mater high schools, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, or the education support offices in the test districts.

The application fee is 37,000 KRW for up to four test areas, 42,000 KRW for five areas, and 47,000 KRW for six areas.

If, as of the application date, the examinee qualifies as a recipient of the National Basic Livelihood Security, legally low-income class, or single-parent family protection, the application fee can be waived.

Among current students applying through the Nambu Education Support Office, graduates, and high school equivalency exam passers, the application fee can be waived upon submission of relevant supporting documents at the time of application.

Details regarding application procedures can be found in the notices on the websites of the Busan Office of Education and the education support offices.

After submitting the application, examinees must collect their admission tickets at the application submission office at 10 a.m. on November 16 and participate in the preliminary gathering for examinees held at the test site indicated on the admission ticket at 2 p.m. on the same day.

This year’s CSAT will be held on November 17, and score reports are scheduled to be distributed on December 9.

Current students can receive their score reports at their schools, while graduates and high school equivalency exam examinees can receive them at the institutions where they submitted their applications.
