'Hansan' 6.31 Million · 'Hunt' 2.21 Million, Korean Films Drive Box Office Success Together 'Hansan' Still Cut


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The films "Hansan: Rising Dragon" and "Hunt" continue to draw steady audiences, maintaining a dual box office success.


According to the Korea Film Council's integrated box office data on the 18th, "Hunt" (directed by Lee Jung-jae) attracted 123,191 viewers on the 17th, securing the number one spot at the box office. Since its release on the 10th, the film has been seen by 2,219,436 people.


"Hansan: Rising Dragon" (directed by Kim Han-min), depicting Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Battle of Hansan, drew 65,909 viewers, ranking second. Since its release on the 27th of last month, it has surpassed a cumulative audience of 6,310,620.


"Hansan: Rising Dragon," approaching 7 million viewers, is expected to continue its long-term success by steadily attracting audiences. Notably, despite the onslaught of new releases, these two Korean films maintain the top two positions at the box office, sustaining their momentum.


Jordan Peele's new film "Nope," released on the same day, entered the third position with 59,574 viewers, followed by "Top Gun: Maverick" in fourth and "Emergency Declaration" in fifth place.


The total number of moviegoers who visited theaters the previous day was recorded at 310,536.
