LG Electronics Launches Compact Tromm WashTower with 165cm Height

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics announced on the 18th that it will launch the 'Tromm WashTower Compact' at the end of this month, allowing households with small laundry loads or limited laundry room space to use an all-in-one washer and dryer. With the recent increase in 1-2 person households and the reduction of laundry space due to the expansion of apartment kitchens and balconies, consumer lifestyle changes have prompted the company to add a compact model to its Tromm WashTower all-in-one washer and dryer lineup.

The Tromm WashTower Compact measures 600mm in width, 660mm in depth, and 1655mm in height. Its reduced size compared to the existing WashTower models allows it to be used in narrow spaces or rooms with low ceilings. The capacity is 13kg for the bottom washer and 10kg for the top dryer. A distinctive feature is the one-body laundry control panel located in the middle of the WashTower, which controls all operations. New functions can also be upgraded via the LG ThinQ app's UP Appliance Center. According to tests by the global certification body Intertek, the new product can complete washing and drying small loads within one hour when using the small rapid course with the drying preparation option.

The design is also characterized by its sleek and minimal aesthetic. Unnecessary lines and spaces have been eliminated to achieve a smooth seamless design. The product will be available in the Objet Collection with the bottom washer in Nature Beige and the top dryer in Nature Green, as well as in a model with both washer and dryer in white. The suggested retail price is 2.69 million KRW for the Objet Collection model and 2.49 million KRW for the white model.

LG Electronics announced that it will sell the Tromm WashTower Compact through a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model, a first in home appliances. The product will be available exclusively through the LG Electronics online store. LG Electronics plans to set up experience zones for the new product at 48 major stores nationwide, including LG Best Shop Gangnam Main Store and Gangseo Main Store.

LG Electronics plans to introduce the WashTower Compact to the global market at IFA 2022, the international home appliance exhibition held in Berlin, Germany, in September. Baek Seungtae, head of LG Electronics' H&A Business Division Living Appliance Business Unit, said, "With the Tromm WashTower Compact, which can be used according to various lifestyles and living spaces, we will provide customers with a new level of experience in washing and drying."
