Companies Aiming to Become 'Global Strong Small Giants' Oiso! … Gyeongbuk TP, a Stepping Stone for Local Business Growth Soars Upward↑ Gyeongbuk Technopark.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] The ‘Gyeongbuk Regional Star Company Development Project’ promoted by Gyeongbuk Technopark is producing excellent corporate support results and is establishing itself as a gateway for the growth of local companies.

The Gyeongbuk Regional Star Company Development Project is a program initiated in 2018 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Gyeongbuk Province, and Gyeongbuk Technopark to support promising local companies at each growth stage and foster outstanding companies.

The development project, conducted in stages, supports companies in the second stage of the growth ladder process, from Post-BI (3 to 7 years after startup) to star companies, then to global small giants, and finally to World Class+/IPO.

Companies selected as star companies in the Gyeongbuk region can receive support such as ▲preliminary research analysis ▲commercialization R&D planning ▲new client discovery ▲growth strategy establishment ▲overseas market research ▲star company technology development projects.

OneBioGen, a star company from the Gyeongbuk region in 2018, succeeded in listing on KONEX in 2019 and then on KOSDAQ in February 2021, while Task, NaturePharm, AceNanoChem, and IJS have achieved growth as global small giants.

Task, which has grown into a small giant company, is a specialized manufacturer of diesel particulate filters. After being selected as a Gyeongbuk regional star company in 2018, it began supporting overseas market development by establishing local subsidiaries in developing countries such as India and Vietnam, entering markets that are growing due to strengthened exhaust gas regulations.

In 2021, Task’s sales grew by 28.1% compared to the previous year, achieving exports worth 2.4 million USD, and this year it was selected as a global small giant company, becoming a leading company in the regional economy.

Ha In-seong, president of Gyeongbuk Technopark, said, “As the international situation and industrial environment are changing, the ability of companies to respond quickly has become even more important,” adding, “Gyeongbuk TP will always listen to the voices of local companies and become a pillar supporting local companies in overcoming crises and achieving growth.”
