[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon Fire Station (Chief Park Sang-jin) 119 Life Safety Patrol Team (hereinafter referred to as the Patrol Team) announced on the 17th that it is directly visiting vulnerable groups in the old downtown area to provide closer and safer community-based safety services.
The Life Safety Patrol Team consists of safety experts (firefighters) with professional qualifications in rescue and first aid who directly visit vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone in the community to eliminate hazards in their living spaces through community-based activities.
Since last month, the Patrol Team has visited 130 households of socially vulnerable groups in the old downtown areas of Suncheon, including Gagok-dong, Pungdeok-dong, Jogok-dong, and Namje-dong, providing various fire safety services such as ▲basic health checks including blood pressure and oxygen saturation ▲installation of safety bars ▲inspection of fire equipment usage ▲installation of basic fire safety facilities (fire extinguishers, standalone smoke detectors) ▲removal of life safety hazards ▲installation of automatic gas shut-off devices ▲inspection of basic fire safety facilities and safety education ▲and other services to resolve daily inconveniences.
Operating since August last year, the Suncheon Fire Station Patrol Team has visited 1,270 households so far, providing over 25,000 fire safety services to 1,600 beneficiaries, receiving great responses from residents.
Park Sang-jin, Chief of Suncheon Fire Station, said, “We will continue to promote life safety services for vulnerable groups in the old downtown and other local communities to ensure they can spend the summer safely and healthily.”
