[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min stated on the 17th after the 100-day inauguration commemorative press conference of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, "The president said in today's press conference, 'I will listen to the will of the people. I will start by reforming myself thoroughly,'" adding, "I hope he keeps his promise as it is."

Former lawmaker Yoo posted on Facebook that afternoon, "The biggest reason for the low public support for this administration lies with the president himself. The president's thoughts, words, and attitude are the problem."

He said, "If the president himself does not change, all remedies will be ineffective," and added, "From today's press conference, it is impossible to tell whether the president truly considers the current situation serious and is prepared to change everything."

He then borrowed the words of the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who said, "Change everything except your wife and children," emphasizing, "It must be changed thoroughly to that extent," and said, "If the president has truly resolved to listen to the will of the people to the point where his bones turn to powder and his body breaks, there is nothing he cannot change."

He urged, "Start by boldly changing the incompetent and sycophantic people around you," emphasizing, "The country cannot prosper with soulless bureaucrats and professors from the campaign." He also advised, "Abandon the mistaken belief that prosecutors are the most capable and seek the best talents in the world," and recommended, "Keep someone who can play the role of the 'devil's advocate' close by."

Regarding the ruling party, former lawmaker Yoo said, "The ruling party should take joint responsibility for governance, not just be a rubber stamp for the wrong governance," and added, "Both the party and the president must change through a relationship of checks and cooperation between the party and government."

He criticized, "Looking back, the first button was fastened incorrectly from the transition committee stage," and said, "While a 'perfect storm' is approaching both the economy and security, the transition committee leisurely patched together what bureaucrats casually wrote without any situational awareness or new governance philosophy."

He also said, "100 days have passed and 1,725 days remain," and added, "I hope they think of this as just the beginning and start anew from a blank slate."
