Hyundai Construction Develops 'Transforming Wall & Furniture' to Expand Living Spaces

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 17th that it has developed 'Transforming Wall & Furniture,' which expands living spaces to use indoor areas more efficiently.

This technology features movable walls that expand and change indoor spaces, allowing for various uses such as dining, working from home, and storage cabinet utilization.

It can be moved with the push of a button without upper or lower rails and is designed to withstand heavy loads. To ensure stability, it is equipped with an automatic brake function and an anti-tip device. The wall surface is made of a magnetic plate, allowing users to attach schedules, memos, and more.

This technology was first applied at 'Hillstate Daemyeong Central 2nd Phase' in Nam-gu, Daegu. Hyundai Engineering & Construction plans to further develop it and apply it to various spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms.

A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "As consumers' lifestyles change, their needs for home spaces are becoming more diverse," adding, "We will build suitable prototypes for each space according to various consumer living patterns."
