Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Industry, "Strengthening Export Competitiveness of New Industries such as Biohealth and Batteries" On the 16th, Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, presided over the "Meeting of Promising Industry Export Companies for Expanding Export Support" in the conference room of Daewoong Pharmaceutical located in Osong Life Science Complex, Cheongju, where he discussed response plans by export-related organizations and the difficulties faced by export companies.

[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The government will announce a comprehensive export strategy at the end of this month to strengthen the export competitiveness of promising new industries such as bio-health and secondary batteries.

On the 16th, Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited the Osong Bio-Science Complex in Chungbuk and stated at the "Promising Industry Export Companies Meeting," "For our economy to grow steadily, the role of new industries such as bio-health, cosmetics, and secondary batteries, in addition to existing key items like semiconductors, is extremely important."

The comprehensive export strategy to be announced at the end of this month will include maintaining the ultra-gap competitiveness of advanced key industries such as semiconductors and displays, and actively fostering premium consumer goods, eco-friendly industries, and promising new industries.

Minister Lee explained, "The prolonged Russia-Ukraine war, slowdown in global economic growth, global inflation, and supply chain instability are all factors limiting our export growth. In the context of the global carbon neutrality trend and the resurgence of COVID-19, we are making policy efforts to ensure that new industries such as bio and batteries grow as major drivers of our exports."

The businesspeople attending the meeting requested that the government actively support various areas leading to exports, including trade finance, import-export logistics, overseas marketing, and overseas certification standards, to revitalize export momentum.
