[Profile] Jeong Taek-ryeol, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Science and ICT

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 16th that it has newly appointed Jeong Taek-ryeol (photo) as its spokesperson.

Born in 1969, Spokesperson Jeong is from Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do, and graduated from Gwangju Kumho High School. He majored in Electrical Engineering at Yonsei University and earned a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of York in the UK.

After passing the 33rd Technical Examination in 1997, he served as Director of the Nuclear Technology Division at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Director of the Future Growth Strategy Division at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Future Talent Policy Division at the Ministry of Science and ICT, and Senior Administrator at the Office of Science and Technology Advisors in the Presidential Secretariat.
