[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 15th, a man in his 40s, Mr. A, who was experiencing difficulty breathing, was urgently transported to a hospital by the Changwon Coast Guard.
The Changwon Coast Guard received a report from Mr. A around 12:59 AM that night, stating, "I have diabetes but I am not feeling well," and immediately dispatched a patrol vessel and the Masan Police Station patrol team.
Upon arriving at a seaside pension in Gusan-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, where Mr. A was located, the Coast Guard moved Mr. A, who was complaining of breathing difficulties, onto the patrol vessel.
During transport, they used a remote emergency medical system to exchange information about Mr. A’s condition with hospital medical staff and assisted his breathing with an oxygen resuscitator.
After docking at Simni Wonjeong Port in Gusan-myeon, the Coast Guard handed Mr. A over to the waiting 119 ambulance team, who then transported him to a nearby hospital.
A Coast Guard official stated, “We will always do our best to transport emergency patients to hospitals as quickly as possible and protect the lives of the people.”
