[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] KMI Korea Medical Institute announced on the 16th that it has officially launched a 'Research Committee' composed of internal and external personnel to enhance the professionalism of research activities and strengthen its foundation.
The committee is composed of a total of 21 internal and external experts, including Honorary Professor Jeon Ki-hong of Ajou University as chairman, Professor Park Eun-cheol of Yonsei University College of Medicine, and Professor Ji Seon-ha of Yonsei University Graduate School of Public Health.
Since its establishment in 1985, KMI has been actively conducting health checkup projects for early detection of diseases as well as survey research projects in the medical field. In particular, to contribute to the development of domestic medicine and the improvement of public health, it has been supporting research on preventive medicine (such as health checkups), clinical medicine, and basic medicine every year since 2008.
Kim Soon-yi, KMI Social Contribution Committee Chairperson (Honorary Director), said in a greeting, "It is an honor to have distinguished figures join us," and added, "We ask for your great interest and support so that the research conducted and supported by KMI can be practically used to create a healthier society."
Jeon Ki-hong, Research Committee Chairman, said, "KMI contributes to the promotion of public health by preventing diseases through health checkups and also contributes to creating a healthy future by conducting and supporting various research," and added, "We will do our best to discover and support research that contributes to improving public health and advancing the healthcare field together with KMI."
