[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] A public opinion poll released on the 15th showed that President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating for his administration slightly increased, re-entering the 30% range. This marks the first rebound in President Yoon's approval rating in eight weeks.


According to a Realmeter survey conducted from the 8th to the 12th among 2,515 nationwide respondents aged 18 and older, 30.4% responded that President Yoon is "doing well" in his administration (15.9% very well, 14.6% fairly well).


Last week's survey showed a drop to the 20% range for the first time in three months since his inauguration, but it rose back to the 30% range within a week.


President Yoon's approval rating first entered the 30% range in the first week of July (37.0%) after his inauguration. It then declined in subsequent surveys: second week of July (33.4%), third week of July (33.3%), fourth week of July (33.1%), and first week of August (29.3%).


The percentage of respondents who said the president is "doing poorly" dropped by 0.6 percentage points from the previous survey (67.8%) to 67.2% (59.3% very poorly, 7.9% fairly poorly). The "don't know" responses decreased by 0.5 percentage points to 2.4%.


By region, positive evaluations were recorded as follows: Daejeon·Sejong·Chungcheong 34.3%, Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam 36.0%, Daegu·Gyeongbuk 47.1%, Seoul 32.0%, Gwangju·Jeolla 13.1%.


By age group, those aged 70 and above showed the highest approval rating at 46.0%, followed by those in their 60s at 38.4%, 18-29 years at 28.5%, 50s at 27.6%, 30s at 26.1%, and 40s at 20.5%.


Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded 47.1%, and the People Power Party 35.8%.


The Democratic Party's support decreased by 1.4 percentage points from the previous survey (48.5%), while the People Power Party showed no change. The Justice Party rose by 0.1 percentage points from 3.3% to 3.4%.


This survey was conducted via automated response system (ARS) with 97% mobile and 3% landline calls, with a response rate of 5.3%. For more details, refer to the website of the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission.
