20s Missing After Drinking with Friends and Entering Han River
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man in his 20s who was with friends at the Han River riverside went missing after entering the river, prompting fire authorities and police to launch a search.
On the 15th, the Gangnam Police Station received a cooperation request from the fire department at 5:16 a.m. that a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who was at the Han River riverside in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, had fallen into the river and gone missing. They are currently conducting a search.
It was reported that Mr. A had visited the Han River riverside after drinking with two friends at the Apgujeong Hanyang Apartment. One friend was a military comrade, and the other was a high school friend.
At the request of one of the friends present, a passerby made the initial 119 emergency call. Another friend reportedly attempted to rescue Mr. A at the same time.
A police official stated, "We are conducting an investigation of the two friends who were at the scene along with the search for Mr. A."
