Under the Theme of 'Separate Yet Shared History' at Gyeongbuk Family Center
The Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation held a seminar titled "Cultural Diversity Seminar, Separate Yet Shared History" at the Gyeongbuk Family Center.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation held a seminar on the 12th at the Gyeongbuk Family Center under the theme "Cultural Diversity Seminar, Separate Yet Shared History" to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Liberation Day.
This seminar was held to raise awareness that other countries also have histories of independence movements similar to Korea's on the occasion of Liberation Day, and to discuss the development direction of multicultural history education from the perspective of cultural diversity.
The seminar featured ▲ Lee Won-hyeok, Chairman of the Anti-Japanese Video History Foundation, presenting "Separate Yet Shared History Seen Through Comics" ▲ Jang Heun-seong, Director of the Gyeongbuk Family Center, presenting "Gyeongbuk Global Talent Policy."
The subsequent discussion session was moderated by Choi Jeong-su, Research Fellow at the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Research Institute, who also served as the chair of the discussion.
Participants in the discussion included Professor Ahn Ji-min of Yeongnam Institute of Technology, Teacher Kwon Hyun-kyung of Dogae Elementary School, Choi Kyung-hee, CEO of Theater Company Eoullim, Joo Jeong-ha, Director of Yecheon County Family Center, Yoo Ha-young, Director of Andong City Family Center, Hwang Mi-ja, Director of Yeongju City Family Center, Jeong Yu-hee, Director of Gyeongsan City Family Center, and Song Geun-jin, Director of Cheongdo County Family Center.
On this day, the seminar emphasized that the independence movement was not only a Korean event but also occurred in neighboring countries, and at a time when the number of marriage immigrants is increasing, history offers a positive perspective on multiculturalism, highlighting the important value of spreading cultural diversity.
Lee Won-hyeok, Chairman of the Anti-Japanese Video History Foundation, stated, "The regional family centers and cultural foundation responsible for multicultural education in Gyeongbuk Province should plan and implement many programs to remember the history of the independence movement and to promote multicultural history education and the value of cultural diversity."
Lee Hee-beom, CEO of the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation, said, "Through this seminar, we hope to reflect on the meaning of the independence movement and Liberation Day, to inspire pride among multicultural families in Gyeongbuk, and to serve as a starting point for the direction of multicultural history education and cultural arts education."
