Gwangyang Steelworks Hanuibaram Balloon Art Volunteer Group, Liberation Day Balloon Sharing Event

Distributing 300 Helium Balloons and Shouting "Daehanminguk Manse" Together

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Hanuibaram Balloon Art Volunteer Group (Director Song Hwa-seop) at POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks held a balloon sharing event at the Kumho-dong Welfare Center on the 12th ahead of Liberation Day.

This event was organized by the Hanuibaram Balloon Art Volunteer Group and the Gwangyang City Family Center to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Liberation Day, honor the noble sacrifice and dedication of the patriotic martyrs, and share gratitude with local residents.

On the day, the Hanuibaram Balloon Art Volunteer Group distributed 300 helium balloons to citizens passing by the welfare center and employees of Gwangyang Steelworks, and everyone shouted "Daehanminguk Manse" (Long live the Republic of Korea) together, creating a lively atmosphere during the event.

In particular, the balloons were printed with the Taegeukgi pattern and the phrase "Daehan Doknip Manse" (Long live Korean independence), adding meaning to Liberation Day.

Recipients of the balloons were able to reflect on the historical significance of Liberation Day in a unique way by holding Taegeukgi balloons and taking photos at a separately installed Polaroid photo zone.

A Gwangyang Steelworks employee who came out after having a meal said, "Liberation Day is approaching soon, and through this event, I was able to recall once again the noble spirit of patriotism of the independence activists," adding, "On the weekend, I plan to learn about Liberation Day with my children and on the 15th, the actual day, spend time honoring the patriotic martyrs."

Since 2005, Gwangyang Steelworks has been remembering and continuing support and interest for heroes who dedicated themselves to the country by improving the living conditions of veterans' homes through the 'Hope House' project.
