[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] No Jae-ho, CEO of HMT, donated 40 million KRW as a development fund to Dongmyung University.
The development fund delivery ceremony took place on the 10th at the Dongmyung University president's office.
HMT is a small and medium-sized enterprise established in 2002, specializing in shipbuilding, repair, and painting in the shipbuilding industry.
Starting in 2023, HMT plans to select 10 freshmen annually from the Department of Marine Mobility and provide scholarships of 4 million KRW each.
HMT is challenging the future ship market based on software development and IT, as well as ship design and construction, and expects to secure specialized personnel through cooperation with Dongmyung University.
CEO No Jae-ho said, “I donated the development fund to the Department of Marine Mobility to foster specialized personnel responding to industrial changes,” and added, “We will also cooperate in field training, internships, and re-education programs for employees through continuous industry-academia collaboration.”
President Jeon Ho-hwan stated, “Considering the difficulties and demands of the industry comprehensively, we expect this to greatly contribute to sharing and spreading innovative curricula and the mutual development between universities and companies.”
