[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Shinsegae Group announced on the 12th that it will donate 500 million KRW to support the recovery of communities affected by the heavy rain in the metropolitan area.

The donation will be made to the 'Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association' and will be used for recovery efforts and support for disaster victims in the flood-affected areas.

Along with the donation, relief supplies will also be provided. Emart, Emart24, and others will supply daily necessities and snacks to areas in need through local governments and relief associations.

Shinsegae Group proactively provided relief supplies to local governments affected by the heavy rain on the 9th and 11th through Emart24. They urgently supplied about 14,000 relief items, including bottled water, beverages, and cup noodles, enough for approximately 1,000 people, and plan to continue supporting areas in need.

Emart will support over 1,000 households in flood-affected areas of Seoul with daily necessities such as instant rice, cup noodles, and bottled water through the Seoul Social Welfare Council. Starting today, deliveries of daily necessities will begin in Seocho-gu and Yeongdeungpo-gu, with plans to expand support to other areas.

A Shinsegae Group official said, “We decided to provide recovery funds and daily necessities to offer even a small help to the flood-affected areas,” adding, “We hope that the victims and local communities recover quickly from the damage.”
