[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Police Agency announced on the 12th that it has collaborated with the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee and the Korea Beauty Association Gwangju Chapter to produce ‘Beauty Cut Boards’ aimed at preventing telecommunication financial fraud (such as voice phishing and messenger phishing).
These organizations devised the ‘Beauty Cut Boards’ as promotional items, inspired by the fact that beauty salons are used by people of all ages and genders, customers spend a lot of time looking into front mirrors, and natural conversations about crime methods and prevention can take place.
A total of 530 ‘Beauty Cut Boards’ printed with telecommunication financial fraud prevention messages will be produced and distributed to beauty salons, and 3,500 prevention flyers will be attached to the Korea Beauty Association’s newsletter (monthly magazine) for further promotion.
A Gwangju police official stated, “We are conducting promotional activities at places with high foot traffic such as U-Square to achieve zero voice and messenger phishing damage, and will continue to focus on customized financial fraud crime prevention by generation.”
