[Independence Day Special Pardon] KCCI "Welcome Special Amnesty... Expecting Revitalization of Corporate Investment"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) has expressed a welcoming stance on the inclusion of business leaders such as Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin in the special pardon for Liberation Day.

On the 12th, KEF stated in a position paper regarding the government's August 15 Liberation Day special pardon, "We actively welcome the president's decision to grant a special pardon, which provides business leaders the opportunity to return to the forefront of management and dedicate themselves to the national economy amid the national crisis caused by the global economic complex crisis and intensified hegemonic competition among major countries."

It added, "We hope this pardon will serve not only the original purpose of pardoning business leaders to revitalize corporate investment for economic recovery but also become an opportunity to achieve national integration, a nationwide task."

KEF emphasized, "The business community will strive to overcome the economic crisis and secure future competitiveness through active investment and the creation of quality jobs," and added, "We will also make further efforts to contribute to national interests, such as supporting the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo, and to become companies loved and trusted by the people."
