[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte announced on the 12th that it will donate 1 billion KRW to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to help restore areas damaged by heavy rain.
This fund will be primarily used for restoring damaged facilities and supporting disaster victims. Additional support, such as delivering relief kits, will be considered after closely monitoring the damage situation.
Lotte is also conducting support activities by group companies. Lotte Group's distribution sector proactively provided about 9,000 emergency relief items, 400 relief kits for disaster victims, and 120 temporary shelter partitions, focusing on severely affected areas. Additionally, mobile shower rooms and toilets will be supplied, and laundry relief vehicles will be deployed at restoration sites. Lotte Corporation delivered about 2,500 bottles of drinking water and 300 daily necessities to Songpa-gu Office in Seoul.
To ensure prompt support during disasters, Lotte has established an emergency relief cooperation system with the National Disaster Relief Association and the Foundation for Large, Small & Medium Enterprises and Agriculture & Fisheries Cooperation, securing disaster relief funds and preparing relief kits. In March, it supported 1 billion KRW for wildfire damage recovery in the Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions, and continues relief activities including donations and supplies for flood recovery during the monsoon season.
