40s Man Found Dead in 'Knee-High' Artificial Stream... Police Launch Investigation A man in his 40s was found dead in an artificial stream.

[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Gun-chan] A man in his 40s was found dead in an artificial stream in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, prompting the police to launch an investigation. The depth of the artificial stream where the accident occurred was found to be at the knee level of an adult male.


The Bucheon Wonmi Police Station announced on the 11th that they discovered wounds on the head of the man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, who was found dead in the artificial stream, and are currently investigating.


According to the police, Mr. A was found at around 6:39 a.m. that day in the artificial stream located in Sang-dong, Bucheon. A passerby nearby discovered Mr. A collapsed in the water and reported it to 119. The passerby stated to the fire department, "I saw a person drowning in the water and reported it."


The police and fire authorities immediately rushed to the scene, but Mr. A was already deceased. He was found wearing both upper and lower garments and carrying belongings such as a wallet. His mobile phone was not found at the scene.


The artificial stream where Mr. A was found dead is near Bucheon Terminal and is known to be a place frequented by many people. The depth of the artificial stream was found to be at the knee level of an adult male.


The police have secured nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to check for any signs of criminal suspicion and are investigating the exact circumstances.
