[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A barrier-free sharing trail will be created at the Chungnam Anmyeondo Arboretum.

The Taean Office of the Chungnam Forest Resources Research Institute announced on the 12th that it has been creating a barrier-free sharing trail since last year using 1.3 billion KRW of green funds received after being selected for the 2020 Green Fund public project.

The barrier-free sharing trail is a walking path within the forest with a slope of 8% or less. The Taean Office expects that the creation of the barrier-free sharing trail will allow transportation-vulnerable people, such as wheelchair users, to safely and comfortably enjoy the forest at the arboretum.

The barrier-free sharing trail project will be carried out over three years until next year. The project cost will be covered by the green funds plus the province’s own resources, and the total length of the barrier-free sharing trail to be created is 3 km.

This year, as the second year of the project, the Taean Office is constructing a 1.4 km section of the barrier-free sharing trail.

In addition, around the 0.7 km section of the barrier-free sharing trail created last year, hydrangeas have been planted to create a new hydrangea garden, and ecological interpretation boards have been installed to provide a diverse viewing environment.

Woo Seok-seong, head of the Taean Office of the Forest Resources Research Institute, said, “We will safely complete the second year of the barrier-free sharing trail project and create an environment where everyone can comfortably enjoy every corner and deeper parts of the arboretum.”

Meanwhile, Anmyeondo Arboretum operates integrated ticketing with Anmyeondo Natural Recreation Forest, allowing visitors to enter through Anmyeondo Natural Recreation Forest and visit Anmyeondo Arboretum together.
