[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Busan Port Authority (BPA) signed a 'Business Agreement for the Activation of the Port Logistics Integrated Platform' with organizations related to Busan Port container logistics at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal on the 11th.

Ten container terminal operators from New Port and North Port, the Container Transport Committee of the Korea Integrated Logistics Association, and the Container Consignment Headquarters of the Cargo Solidarity participated in the agreement.

The main contents of the agreement are ▲ active cooperation for platform activation ▲ promotion and guidance for users belonging to each organization ▲ sharing of related data.

BPA started developing the port logistics integrated platform in 2018 to improve problems caused by the multiple terminal operator system divided into New Port and North Port, such as transshipment cargo movement between different piers, decreased port productivity, and a sharp increase in container dwell time during global logistics crises, and completed the construction in four years.

The core functions of the integrated platform are threefold: Vehicle Booking System (VBS), Transshipment Shuttle System (TSS), and Integrated Information Service (IIS).

BPA stated, “We expect the integrated platform to greatly contribute to increasing terminal productivity, enhancing dispatch efficiency for transport companies, and reducing waiting times for drivers within terminals.”

The 'Vehicle Booking System' is the first of its kind introduced domestically, significantly reducing waiting times for transport companies and drivers who reserve terminal arrival times. Terminal operators can promptly provide services such as adjusting the location of reserved cargo for booked vehicles.

The 'Transshipment Shuttle System' features a group order function that sends transport requests for multiple vehicles and cargo at once, expected to drastically improve the long-standing issue of transshipment cargo movement between different piers at Busan Port. This system is scheduled to be fully operational in October.

The 'Integrated Information Service' collects information from all container terminals in Busan Port and presents it through a single window service, providing Busan Port users with a higher level of information accessibility and convenience.

Kang Junseok, President of BPA, said, “The success of the port logistics integrated platform project depends on active participation and interest from users, so we will systematically carry out user-tailored promotional activities.”
