Emergency Support Team Formed Beyond Donations to Aid Victims
‘Special Flood-Damaged Vehicle Support Service’ Until Year-End
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Group is launching emergency relief efforts along with a donation of 2 billion KRW to support the swift recovery from damage caused by recent heavy rains concentrated in the central region and to assist disaster victims.
Hyundai Motor Group announced that it will deliver 2 billion KRW in donations to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association on the 11th to ensure rapid recovery and support for residents in the flood-affected areas.
In addition to the donation, the company has formed an emergency support team of executives and employees to provide basic necessities such as bottled water and ramen to the affected areas. They will also deploy four mobile laundry relief vehicles and one disinfection relief vehicle to help process contaminated laundry and conduct disinfection in the affected regions.
Earlier, on the 10th, Hyundai Motor Group announced a ‘Special Support Service for Flood-Damaged Vehicles’ for customers in the flood-affected areas, which will be available until the end of this year. This service offers up to a 50% discount on repair costs for flood-damaged vehicles to minimize customer burden, and free car wash services after repairs are completed. (For customers without comprehensive insurance, support up to 3 million KRW)
Additionally, customers who bring in flood-damaged vehicles and rent a car will receive 50% support on rental car fees for up to 10 days. (For customers without comprehensive insurance; excludes corporate, commercial, and cargo vehicles)
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, “We extend our deepest condolences to everyone suffering from the record-breaking heavy rains and floods. Through donations, special support for flood-damaged vehicles, and emergency relief activities, we will actively support the swift recovery and return to daily life in the affected areas.”
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group has been fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by actively engaging in social contribution activities, including donating 5 billion KRW in March for recovery from the Uljin and Samcheok wildfires, as well as providing donations for recovery support during various disasters such as the 2020 heavy rains, 2019 Gangwon wildfires, 2019 Typhoon Mitag, and the 2017 Pohang earthquake.
