At Dongmyung University, which is managed with the motto of challenge, experience, and practice 'Doing,' exciting soccer education and matches were held on the 10th. The players are drones, and the ball is also a drone. In fact, the students and local residents controlling these drones are the real drone soccer players.
The game is played in three rounds of 3 minutes each, with 5 drones on each team. When the striker drone passes through the round tube-shaped goal floating in the air, one goal is awarded. The other team’s four drones defend by blocking the flying ball (drone) trying to pass through their goal. It is a strategic game where players calculate drone battery life to crash and block opponent drones, depleting the enemy's energy.
On the 10th, 21 local residents including elementary, high school students, and young adults enjoyed the charm of three drone programs?▲drone piloting class ▲drone manufacturing class ▲drone soccer class?at the Nam-gu Drone Education Experience Center located at Dongmyung University, in a small elite format.
This was the first day of free drone education experience sessions conducted nine times from August to December by Busan Nam-gu and Dongmyung University, targeting 270 citizens to popularize and expand the base of drone use.
Earlier, Nam-gu opened the 'Nam-gu Drone Education Experience Center' on the Dongmyung University campus in January. They established educational infrastructure where people can directly learn and experience drone operation, including educational drones, theory classrooms, and practical training rooms.
Dongmyung University, aiming to nurture 'Do-ing talents' who challenge, experience, and practice, also provides drone education to military science students through the Drone Education Research Center (Director Na Seung-hak, Head of Military Science Department). It is the first among military science departments nationwide to offer excellent students a free path to obtain national drone certification.
Professor Na Seung-hak, an aviation expert and former military helicopter instructor pilot who holds an unmanned multicopter instructor pilot qualification, said, "Drone certifications are divided into six levels: pilot classes 4 to 1, instructor pilot, and practical evaluation pilot," adding, "In cooperation with Nam-gu Office and others, Dongmyung University will lead drone education and experience."
