Com2uS Posts Record Q2 Revenue of 193.4 Billion KRW... Operating Profit Declines

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Com2uS posted its highest-ever sales in the second quarter of this year, but operating profit decreased compared to the same period last year.

Com2uS announced on the 11th that its sales in the second quarter reached 193.4 billion KRW. This is the highest quarterly sales ever, increasing by 26.5% compared to the same period last year.

During the same period, operating profit was 3.8 billion KRW, down 65.6%, while net profit was 14.9 billion KRW, up 42.4%. The decrease in operating profit was attributed to increased investments in content business and other areas.

The 8th anniversary of "Summoners War: Sky Arena" drove sales by setting a new record for daily maximum sales in April. The launch of the new title "Com2uS Pro Baseball V22," along with the continued growth of "Com2uS Pro Baseball 2022" and "MLB 9 Innings 22," led to a 28% increase in sales from the baseball game lineup compared to the previous year.

Media content also contributed to growth. In the media content sector, major affiliates such as Wysiwyg Studios and MyMusicTaste recorded sales of 57.7 billion KRW.

Com2uS plans to accelerate performance growth starting from the third quarter with the launch of "Summoners War: Chronicle." Scheduled for release in Korea on the 16th, "Summoners War: Chronicle" targets the market with its unique point as a summoning-type massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). The company aims for success not only in Asia but also in Western markets such as North America and Europe.

They will also strengthen competitiveness in blockchain mainnet, media content business, and metaverse sectors. Com2uS Group's blockchain mainnet XPLA will officially launch on the 19th, aiming to become a global Web3 mainnet specialized in digital media content including games.
