On the 11th, KT announced the launch of the 'AI Grocery Shopping' service, which allows customers to conveniently order fresh products at home using KT GiGA Genie in collaboration with Oasis Market.
The AI Grocery Shopping service is an AI shopping service that delivers fresh foods such as pork belly, milk, tofu, and bean sprouts early in the morning through KT GiGA Genie, which is used in 3.3 million households. In addition to fresh foods, customers can purchase more than 20,000 different products including kitchenware and daily necessities.
For example, by saying "Jiniya, order organic milk from Oasis Market," the AI Grocery Shopping service is activated, and with just three voice commands?"Add it," "Buy it," and "Pay for it"?fresh products can be delivered by 7 a.m. the next day.
KT GiGA Genie subscribers can use the AI Grocery Shopping service without separate membership registration. Delivery information is automatically entered using the subscriber’s GiGA Genie information. The service also offers 'bill payment,' which combines the grocery purchase amount with the communication bill, and 'KT Genie Pay,' a simple payment method for GiGA Genie, making it convenient to order products. Existing purchase history is saved, making repurchasing easy.
In particular, KT plans to provide an 'AI Consumption Prediction' feature using 'personalized AI' technology that analyzes customers’ consumption patterns and notifies them via voice message in advance when frequently purchased fresh foods or daily necessities are running low or need to be repurchased. Additionally, through big data analysis of purchase history, an 'AI Product Recommendation' service will be offered after pilot testing, providing discount information on products of interest.
To commemorate the service launch, KT and Oasis Market are offering 'Today's Special' products limited to two per person per day and a 'First Purchase Benefit' that allows customers to buy selected popular products for 100 won. They plan to continue expanding customized benefits for AI Grocery Shopping customers.
Meanwhile, KT launched the 'GiGA Genie Water Easy Order' service last October, allowing customers to conveniently order bottled water by voice through GiGA Genie. With the release of the Oasis Market AI Grocery Shopping service, KT is targeting expansion in the AI commerce market.
Market research firm Juniper Research has forecasted that the transaction amount through voice recognition services will reach $19.4 billion by 2023.
