[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] The movie "Hansan: Rising Dragon," depicting Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Battle of Hansan, surpassed 5 million cumulative viewers on the 15th day since its release on the 10th.

Distributed by Lotte Entertainment, "Hansan" became the second Korean film this year to exceed 5 million viewers, following "Crime City 2."

The second installment of director Kim Han-min's Yi Sun-sin trilogy, "Hansan" recreates the Battle of Hansan, where the Joseon navy defeated the Japanese forces using turtle ships during the Imjin War. Park Hae-il portrayed Yi Sun-sin, and Byun Yo-han played the Japanese commander Wakizaka.
