Jangseong-gun Recruiting Businesses for 'Namdo Accommodation Discount Big Event' Participation

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it will recruit accommodations participating in the ‘Namdo Accommodation Discount Big Event’ from the 12th to the 25th.

The ‘Namdo Accommodation Discount Big Event,’ launched for the first time to mark the ‘2022~2023 Jeollanam-do Visit Year,’ is a lodging fee discount program targeting tourists from regions other than Jeollanam-do or Gwangju Metropolitan City residents.

Guests staying at participating accommodations will receive a discount on their lodging fees.

The discount amount varies depending on the lodging fee. If the lodging fee is 100,000 KRW or more, a 40,000 KRW discount is applied; for 70,000 KRW or more, a 30,000 KRW discount; and for less than 70,000 KRW, a 20,000 KRW discount.

The program operates on a pre-discount and post-settlement basis. Participating businesses discount the customer’s lodging fee, then submit an invoice with the payment receipt and lodging confirmation to the county office, after which the discount amount is deposited the following month.

The county expects this to significantly contribute to revitalizing the local tourism industry by encouraging an increase in staying visitors.

Participation conditions for accommodations include being registered businesses within the region in one of four categories: tourist accommodations, hanok experience businesses, lodging businesses, or rural homestays.

Applications can be submitted by registered mail or by visiting the Tourism Promotion Team of the Culture and Tourism Division at the county office directly by the 25th.

Required documents include a business registration certificate, lodging fee official price list, a copy of the bankbook, and certificates of full payment of national and local taxes.

A county official stated, “All businesses wishing to participate will be selected unless there are disqualifying reasons,” and added, “We ask for your great interest and applications.”
