[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Yuhan-Kimberly and LG Chem announced on the 10th that they have signed the 'Green Action Alliance' to contribute to the expansion of a sustainable product ecosystem.
Yuhan-Kimberly has launched and operated the Green Action Alliance to develop sustainable materials and transition to a circular economy through inter-company cooperation.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to accelerate ▲ active development and stable supply of sustainable materials ▲ activation of sustainable material product application and market expansion ▲ expansion of customer-friendly materials and product development by sharing and reflecting customer experiences on products applying new materials.
Yuhan-Kimberly expects that the expanded collaboration with LG Chem will greatly contribute to expanding sustainable products that combine environmental performance and innovation based on eco-friendly raw materials. Previously, Yuhan-Kimberly has been collaborating by receiving bio-based superabsorbent resin containing bio raw materials, which was the world's first to obtain the international certification ISCC PLUS for eco-friendly materials from LG Chem, and applying it to products such as 'Huggies Naturemade Organic Diapers.'
CEO Jin Jae-seung said, “Innovation is to convert the high preference for eco-friendly products into actual consumer-used products, and for this, cooperation across the industry is essential. Cooperation with LG Chem can enhance environmental performance and product power, playing a role in advancing climate change response and a sustainable future together with many consumers.”
Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem, said, “We expect that LG Chem's sustainable material technology and Yuhan-Kimberly's product capabilities will create synergy in building a circular economy involving customers and accelerating carbon neutrality. We will further strengthen the cooperation system between the two companies through full investment and technical support in the future.”
