[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, filed an injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the party's transition to an emergency response committee on the 10th.

Hwang Jeong-su, Chief Judge of Civil Division 51 at the Seoul Southern District Court, announced that he has received Lee's injunction application against the People Power Party and Emergency Response Committee Chairman Joo Ho-young.

Since the People Power Party's emergency response committee is set to launch on the 12th, a decision is expected by the 11th at the latest.

Earlier, on the 9th, the People Power Party appointed Representative Joo Ho-young as the Emergency Response Committee Chairman through a meeting of lawmakers and a resolution by the national committee. As a result, Lee Jun-seok was automatically dismissed after serving only one year and two months, failing to complete his two-year term.

In response, Lee stated on Facebook, "I am filing an injunction. I will not establish a new party."

Lee is scheduled to hold a press conference for the public on the 13th to announce his position.
