[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gui-yeol] A singing contest that will produce new singers will be held at the ‘Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo’ opening on September 30.

The organizing committee announced that the ‘2022 Sobaeksan Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Singing Contest’ will be held on October 8, during the Punggi Ginseng Expo, at the permanent stage of the Punggi Ginseng Culture Pop-up Park.

This singing contest is co-hosted by Yeongju City and the Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo Organizing Committee, organized by the Punggi Lions Club, and sponsored by the Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Festival Organizing Committee.

The preliminary round will be held on September 17 at 1 p.m. at the Punggi Culture House, where 12 teams will be selected to advance to the finals. The finals will be held on the main stage at the event venue on October 8 during the Expo period.

One grand prize winner (team) will receive 3 million KRW, one gold prize winner 1.5 million KRW, and a total of six winners will be awarded prize money and trophies. The grand prize winner will receive a ‘Singer Certificate’ issued by the Korea Singers Association and will be able to work as an official singer.
