Lotte Chilsung, First in Industry to Obtain ISMS-P Information Security Management System Certification

Maintaining and Expanding Top-Level Certification for Stakeholder Information Protection

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 10th that it has become the first company in the beverage and liquor industry to obtain the ISMS-P certification.

The ISMS-P certification is a certification system issued after an evaluation by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) based on standards jointly announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission. To obtain the ISMS-P certification, all 80 information security-related items and 22 personal information protection items must be evaluated and passed.

Lotte Chilsung proactively pursued the certification to prevent personal information leakage incidents and to enhance the internal information security management system. Through this certification, the company explained that it has been recognized for managing not only the information security management system but also the personal information protection level of consumers and customers at the highest domestic standards.

The scope of certification covers the corporate website operation system related to external services and the personal information protection management system, and through this voluntary certification, the qualification will be maintained for three years.

A Lotte Chilsung official stated, "As the speed of digital transformation accelerates recently, we pursued the highest level of information security certification to proactively respond to the increasing importance of information security and threats to personal information. We plan to expand the certification scope to internal systems and continue to promote customer personal information protection and company-wide digital transformation."
