[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Tae-woo) held an "Integrated New Office Building Construction Design Report Meeting" on the morning of the 9th at the district office's main conference room, attended by about 10 people including district office executives and project stakeholders.
At the meeting, the progress of the design so far and design documents were shared, and various opinions were exchanged for the construction of the integrated new office building. In particular, Mayor Kim emphasized that while the aesthetic aspect of the integrated new office building is important, the convenience of residents must be prioritized above all.
Mayor Kim said, "The integrated new office building should be a space where residents can visit not only for administrative tasks but also to relax with their families on holidays," and added, "Especially, harmony with nearby facilities such as the Seoul Botanical Garden must be considered."
The integrated new office building is planned to be constructed on a 20,244㎡ site at 745-3 Magok-dong, housing the district office, district council, health center, and resident convenience facilities together, with completion targeted for 2026.
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) is recruiting resident teams for the second half of 2022 at the Sungkonghoe University Guro Village University Startup Residency Space starting from the 8th.
The teams to be recruited this time are up to 12 teams, and they can use the space for about five months from October to February 2023.
The location is the first and third base spaces of Guro Village University on Yeondong-ro, Guro-gu, Seoul (the third base space is at Sungkonghoe University’s Guduin Building).
Resident teams will be provided with office equipment including office space according to size, and can receive support necessary for startups through startup education and mentoring.
Additionally, resident teams will be given priority eligibility to participate in various competitions under the Seoul Campus Town Project.
The eligibility for residency includes ▲early-stage startups registered for business for less than three years ▲pre-startup companies planning to start within six months ▲startup teams of two or more composed of current or returning students with entrepreneurial intent.
The application deadline is September 8. Application forms, business plans, and consent forms for personal information use can be downloaded from the Guro Village University Naver Cafe and submitted via email.
Face-to-face evaluations will be conducted for those who pass the first document screening, comprehensively considering team composition, entrepreneur (team) capabilities, completeness of business plans, and suitability for residency to select the final resident teams. Detailed information can be found on the Guro Village University Naver Cafe.
A Guro-gu official said, "We hope the Sungkonghoe University Guro Village University Startup Residency Space will alleviate startup costs and provide practical help in difficult times," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide support that entrepreneurs can truly feel."
Opened in 2019, the Sungkonghoe University Startup Residency Space supports the discovery and nurturing of startups and the stable operation of early-stage startups realizing social value. So far, a total of 33 startup teams have been selected and supported.
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) has enrolled in comprehensive volunteer insurance to protect volunteers from various accidents that may occur during volunteer activities.
The "Comprehensive Volunteer Insurance" covers volunteers affiliated with Gangbuk-gu without a separate enrollment process. However, volunteers must register with the volunteer organization before activities and be able to submit a volunteer activity confirmation.
The main coverage includes ▲natural disaster death 500 million KRW ▲host liability 500 million KRW ▲injury death/permanent disability/medical personnel 200 million KRW ▲volunteer liability 200 million KRW ▲medical expenses 100 million KRW ▲fracture/burn 3 million KRW ▲daily hospitalization allowance for traffic injury 50,000 KRW, all covered up to the maximum limits.
The coverage period is from May 1, 2022, to April 30, 2023, and insurance payments are made for accidents occurring within this period.
To claim insurance, submit the insurance claim form, consent form for personal information processing, volunteer activity certificate, and other receipts to the Gangbuk-gu Volunteer Center. The center then forwards the documents to the insurance company, which reviews them and pays the insurance money to the volunteer.
For details on coverage, required documents, and other inquiries, contact the dedicated CS center for comprehensive volunteer insurance.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, "We promoted enrollment in comprehensive insurance to alleviate volunteers' economic and psychological concerns about accidents during volunteer activities," adding, "We will work hard to establish a safety net so that volunteers can carry out their activities safely."
