LG Electronics Obtains Certification for 'Air Quality Field Proficiency Test and On-site Evaluation Suitability'

Certified by the National Institute of Environmental Research... Plans to Expand into Water Quality Sector

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Ye-ju] LG Electronics announced on the 9th that it recently received a 'Proficiency Test and Field Evaluation Compliance' certification in the air quality sector from the National Institute of Environmental Research under the Ministry of Environment.

With this compliance certification, LG Electronics has proven its capability to precisely measure air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen chloride, and sulfur oxides, and to manage them. This means that beyond the legally mandated monitoring previously conducted through third-party measurement agencies, LG Electronics can now independently analyze and manage air pollutants throughout the entire production process on an ongoing basis.

Last year, LG Electronics established an environmental testing laboratory within the LG Electronics Production Technology Institute located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, and gathered experts in environmental analysis to conduct research aimed at monitoring air emission concentrations and ensuring measurement reliability.

Going forward, LG Electronics plans to continuously expand the number of air pollutants it can precisely measure from the current 25 types and to develop its own measurement capabilities in the water quality sector as well.
