[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Coast Guard urgently transported two emergency patients from an island village to the mainland.
According to Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 8th, at around 6:05 PM the previous day, a report was received that A (9 years old) from Bigeumdo, Sinan-gun, had a fractured leg and needed to be transported to the mainland, prompting the dispatch of a coastal rescue boat from the police substation.
The Coast Guard boarded A and the guardian onto the coastal rescue boat, continuously monitored the patient's condition, and swiftly moved to Amtae Namgang Pier for hospital transfer.
Earlier, at around 8:20 AM on the 6th, the Coast Guard received a report that resident B (male, in his 80s) in the same area had fallen while moving and fractured a rib, and transported him to the mainland using the coastal rescue boat.
The two emergency patients transported with the help of the Coast Guard were moved to a hospital in Mokpo, where they underwent detailed examinations and are currently receiving treatment.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “We always maintain a state of readiness to respond immediately to emergency patient transport in island areas,” and added, “We will do our best to protect the lives of the people through prompt response to urgent situations.”
