Exhibition of Works by 21 Artists Including Jo Youngjeong and Lee Inseon at Gwangju Buk-gu Local Food Museum from 10 to 21
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Korea Ceramic Association (President Lee Inseon) announced on the 8th that it will hold the "Sujak (手作) Burigi" exhibition from the 10th to the 21st at the exhibition hall of the Local Food Museum in Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Despite the difficulties and hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Korea Ceramic Association unite under the name "Sujak (手作)" and pour their artistic spirit into holding the 7th "Sujak (手作) Burigi" exhibition.
The "Sujak (手作) Burigi" exhibition features works by 21 participants, including regular members and artists Lee Inseon, An Taeyoon, Bae Eunju, Jo Youngjeong, Kim Jonggyun, Kwak Yuna, Gong Eunsuk, Choi Sunok, Park Hyunggon, Hong Seongwoo, Noh Sijun, Im Eunsuk, and member artists Kim Jeongdu, Kim Seongeun, Lee Youngsun, Mo Jiyoung, Bae Gihwan, Park Eungyeong, Shim Hyeongjun, Heo Jiyoung, and Jo Yeonhee.
Lee Inseon, president of the Korea Ceramic Association, stated, "Through the 7th 'Sujak (手作) Burigi' exhibition, we hope to provide an opportunity for the citizens of Gwangju and visitors, who have endured hardships due to COVID-19, to understand and appreciate the creative value of our ceramic art across various genres from tradition to modern times."
Meanwhile, the Korea Ceramic Association recently opened the art collection shop "Sujak" located at the Daein Art Night Market, offering citizens various ceramic experiences such as pottery wheel workshops and hand-painting experiences.
Since the invited exhibition at the 2017 Jingdezhen International Ceramic Festival in China, the association has promoted the excellence of Korean ceramics through events such as the Seoul "Jeollado Jeongdo (定道) Millennium Ceramic Special Exhibition," Gwangju "Jeollado Jeongdo (定道) Millennium Ceramic Special Exhibition," "Pottery Shaping Dreams with Citizens" exhibition, "Ceramic Special Exhibition Flight (飛上) II," operation of vocational experience programs for middle school students, and exhibitions for people with disabilities and multicultural families.
