Earlier, in May, a T-90M deployed in the Ukraine war was found destroyed. According to multiple foreign media outlets, Andriy Chaplyenko, a local Ukrainian journalist, released photos on May 4 (local time) showing damaged Russian tanks and armored vehicles standing near eastern Kharkiv.

The tank in the photos is a T-90M, a derivative model of Russia's T-90 series. It has been supplied to the Russian military since spring 2020 and is known to be equipped with the latest fire control system, providing very high accuracy and firing speed of shells.

At that time, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released drone footage showing the destruction of a T-90M tank. The Ministry stated, "While conducting drone reconnaissance in the Kharkiv area, we discovered a concentration of enemy heavy weapons, designated the target, and the Special Operations Command resistance forces coordinated with an artillery brigade to strike." They added, "One each of a T-90 tank, a T-80 tank, and an MTLB armored vehicle were destroyed, and another MTLB was damaged."

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that from February 24 to August 8, they have destroyed 1,811 Russian tanks. They also reported attacking over 42,340 Russian soldiers, 223 military jets, 4,070 Russian military vehicles, and 744 drones.
