Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital Signs Clinical Research Agreement with Solmedics Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwanju] Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital announced on the 8th that it has signed a clinical research business agreement with Solmedix, a medical device development specialized company.


Through this agreement, Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital and Solmedix will promote collaboration in medical device development, explore areas of cooperation, and exchange academic and technical information related to medical care and health.


Solmedix is a medical device open innovation company that introduced the platform business model in the medical device field for the first time in Korea. It analyzes medical device ideas proposed from medical sites, conducts multifaceted analyses of clinical demand and business feasibility, establishes optimal productization strategies, and rapidly and efficiently commercializes products based on a specialized GMP production facility for medical devices (shared factory).


Yang Incheol, CEO of Solmedix, expressed, "We hope that the excellent clinical infrastructure of Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital and our research and development and commercialization know-how will create mutual synergy and contribute to the revitalization and growth of the domestic medical device industry ecosystem."


Lee Sangho, Director of the Clinical Medicine Research Institute at Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital, said, "Through cooperation with the open innovation platform Solmedix, we expect to supplement our hospital's insufficient medical device-related infrastructure so that ideas originating from clinical practice can lead to medical device development."
