Hwasun-gun Operates 'Book Delivery Service'... Up to 5 Books per Person

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun announced on the 8th that it will operate a ‘Book Delivery Service’ that allows residents to receive library books at home with just one click.

The ‘Hwasun Open Library Book Delivery Service’ (hereinafter referred to as the Book Delivery Service), operated for knowledge and information vulnerable groups such as residents of areas without libraries, is receiving positive responses from residents.

The Book Delivery Service, which began a pilot operation last November, has a high satisfaction rate as residents who find it difficult to visit the library can comfortably receive books by courier at home. However, there was inconvenience in applying by phone due to the lack of a system.

Accordingly, the county recently revamped the library website and established a system that allows book searches and courier applications to be made at once, officially starting the operation.

The Book Delivery Service is available to residents of 12 myeon (townships) excluding Hwasun-eup.

Even residents living in Hwasun-eup can use the Book Delivery Service if they are disabled, pregnant, have children under 12 months old, or are seniors aged 65 or older.

To use the Book Delivery Service, you must register as a book loan member of the Hwasun Open Library. The service allows borrowing up to 5 books per person for 16 days (including delivery period, with one extension possible).

A county official said, “We introduced the Book Delivery Service for residents who find it difficult to visit the library,” adding, “We will continue to discover and operate various services for knowledge and information vulnerable groups.”
