[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Se-eun] Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed that he lives in a house priced at $45,000 (approximately 58.4 million KRW).
According to Business Insider on the 6th (local time), Musk appeared on a podcast and said that although he does not have a permanent residence, he stays in a house with three rooms measuring 800 to 900 square feet (22.5 to 25.3 pyeong).
Musk's house is a type of prefabricated home called a "folding box house," characterized by easy installation and mobility.
Musk said, "My friends stay at my house but they can't believe that I live in this house," adding, "Before converting the garage, this place had two bedrooms."
The residence is about 0.5 miles (800 meters) away from SpaceX's rocket factory in southern Texas, which Musk described as "a walkable distance." SpaceX is a private American space exploration company founded by Musk in 2002.
Earlier, in November, Musk posted on Twitter that he lived in a house in southern Texas and said, "A small house feels more like a home." Having declared in 2020 that he would sell most of his possessions, he has continued to sell real estate.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk's net worth is $278.4 billion (approximately 361.5 trillion KRW), ranking first on the global billionaire rankings compiled by the financial magazine Forbes and Bloomberg's billionaire index.
